Intensive
Join us for a week of exciting classes at our Summer Intensive. This program features classes taught by SSDE faculty, as well as guest teachers from around the dance industry. Students will train in ballet, jazz, contemporary, pom, hip hop, musical theater and more!

Summer Intensive Guest Artists
Emily Yeo
Emily is a graduate of Dean College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Dance with a minor in Business. During her time there, she trained extensively in a wide range of styles including jazz, tap, ballet, modern, and hip hop. While in college, she also became a published author, writing about the mindset and experiences of dancers.
In addition to her academic and artistic accomplishments, Emily earned the title of Miss Freetown 2019 and went on to place as 3rd Runner-Up at Miss Massachusetts.
Emily just finished her fifth season as a New England Patriots Cheerleader. As a member of the 2025–2026 squad, she was honored as Cheerleader of the Year and had the opportunity to perform at the 2026 Pro Bowl Games and the Super Bowl. Through her work with the organization, she has performed across the country, representing the New England Patriots on a national stage.
With over eight years of teaching experience, Emily is deeply passionate about dance education. She loves working with children and teens, inspiring confidence and creativity while sharing her enthusiasm for the art of dance.

Ages 13 & up | 12:00 - 1:30 PMAngie Moon Conte is a multidisciplinary artist based in New York City. She began her training as a competition dancer, and went on to study concert forms, earning a BA in dance, as well as an MFA in dance from NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
Her choreography both in the comp and concert world has been widely celebrated regionally and nationally. She has a deep love for teaching and mentorship, and her students have gone on to have their own stellar careers as performers and makers.
Along with dance she works in film, primarily in the art department, where she leads creative teams for feature films, commercials, and music videos. She has also choreographed and directed a number of dance films, and is currently in pre-production for her next.
In her spare time she loves to craft, paint, and metalsmith. She is endlessly curious to explore the arts in all forms, and is a believer that all creative practices inform each other.

Ages 8-12 | 10:30 AM - 12:00 PMHailing from Boston but now based in Los Angeles, Ella Sweeney is a vibrant creative force, driven to share her energy and impactful ideas with the world.
Raised in a family of performers, Ella's journey as an entertainer evolved into a deep focus on dance, culminating in her pursuit of a BFA in Commercial Dance at Hussian College.
Ella has been featured in Novartis’ Super Bowl Commercial, Rick Astley’s AAA “Never Gonna Give You Up” commercial, Ross Lynch’s “Heart of Mine” music video, and many more industry experiences!
Ella's vision is to foster a dance world marked by adaptability, acceptance, inclusivity, and love. She is thrilled about the creative impact she's poised to make on the world.
Alyssa Cesario
Alyssa is a dance educator, freelance choreographer and professional dancer from Reading MA. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a bachelor’s degree in Dance Education & Management.
In college she obtained a leadership role on the university’s D1A Dance Team. During her 4 years on this team she became a 2x Collegiate All-American Award winner.
Post college, she became a member of the Boston Celtics Dance team & recently retired after her 3rd season. She is currently working as a dance educator for Cambridge Rindge & Latin High School while also choreographing for studios, professional teams & colleges all around New England.
Alyssa is extremely passionate about dance education advocacy and the importance of community within the dance industry. She is constantly sharing her love for dance through choreographing, educating & performing.

Ages 8-12 | 10:30 - 12:00 PMNichola Montt, originally from Boston, MA, received her training under the direction of Marylou Cunningham in Hanover, MA and at Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre in Cambridge, MA. She has also trained with the American Academy of Ballet, Festival Ballet Providence, and in Paris, France with Dance New York International. While in Paris, Nichola studied with teachers from the Paris Opéra Ballet, Stefanie Batten Bland and had the opportunity to perform a piece set by a member of the William Forsyth Company, at the invitation of Kazuko Hirabayashi.
While with the Purchase Dance Company, Nichola performed multiple works by Jessica Lang. Ms. Montt graduated from SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance with a BFA in Dance and a minor in Arts Management. Upon graduation, she started her professional career dancing with XACO Contemporary Ballet in NY before joining Ballet Spartanburg where she danced as a company dancer for 7 years. Nichola has also danced with Hudson Ballet Theatre in White Plains, NY. Nichola has performed lead roles in The Nutcracker, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Cinderella, An American in Paris, The Sleeping Beauty, The Great Gatsby and The Balcony Pas De Duex from Romeo and Juliet.
In September 2016, Nichola and Ballet Spartanburg company member Will Scott performed Passages, a duet choreographed by Lona Gomez for TedxTryon in North Carolina. Nichola is a current year round faculty member at South Shore Ballet Theatre in Hingham, MA and Etoile Dance and Yoga in Pembroke, MA.

Ages 13 & up | 10:30 - 12:00 PMMariana Lacusta is the co-owner of Fred Astaire Dance Studios - Hanover and a passionate ballroom dance instructor who loves teaching students of all ages and experience levels.
Her mission is to inspire confidence, connection, and joy through dance while creating a welcoming environment where every student feels encouraged to grow both personally and socially.
Through her dedication, warmth, and love for teaching, Mariana helps people discover not only the art of dance, but also the confidence to express themselves freely on and off the dance floor.
Catherine Piazza
Catherine trained at Northern Ballet School in Manchester, England, before embarking on a global performing career as Dance Captain and Lead Dancer on Carnival Cruise Lines under the direction of George Reich, Joan Palethorpe, and Minnie Madden.
After an extensive career in performance, Catherine utilised her associate in pedagogy and transitioned into teaching in New York before spending the past decade instructing at multiple studios on the South Shore.
She currently serves as the Chair of the Dance Department at South Shore Conservatory, passionate about dance education, and specializing in Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) and pointe work. Catherine also teaches literacy through movement and music in the Brockton and Rockland school districts and is a registered Music Together Instructor.
